Meet Liz
My work is an eclectic mixture of media and techniques with printmaking, drawing and paper at the core. I combine paper manipulation such as joomchi (a Korean ‘paper-felting’ technique) with printmaking techniques, including forms of etching, mono-printing and relief-printing, with collage, stitch and a range of drawing media such as graphite, watercolours, pastel, ink and pen. As a papermaker, I also make artists books and use my paper in 3D constructions which are usually quirky and poking a bit of fun.
For subjects I use research and memory, investigating histories both personal and in a broader sense those related to the landscape. The environment of Tenterfield and New England is a rich source of all these things.
I have been an exhibiting artist for over 30 years around Australia and overseas.
